Celebrating Drink in HandI look at a cocktail glass, and I immediately think of a celebration. Who shops for cocktail glasses for casual day to day use? They are one of the few symbols that we still keep for special occasions, and just holding one evokes a sense of festivity. The day my grandparents celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary, they drank from cocktail glasses, regardless of the fact that they did not drink spirits. The day I got married, we used special glasses engraved with our names and the date, and gave them out to our party guests. We still use ours each year to celebrate the date. The happiest times of our lives with family and friends often involve sharing a drink, and each glass can set the mood in a special way. My favorite has a single bubble in the bottom, with a twirled color strip winding up the stem of the glass, a gift from my husband.
